Dogs. They’re elemental. And the bridges of love between us are tangible.

This is a stunning piece of writing, and encapsulates precisely my feelings for the dogs I have lived with in my lifetime.

That is kind of you to say, Terry. Thank you.

So so sad to know for sure that Auggie is gone. What a beautiful piece, Marcy!

Oh my what a sweet story and I have to say just how sorry we were to hear about Auggie’s passing. He was the BEST dog. He was big and ferocious when he didn’t know the dog being walked nearby but with our Phoebe, he was in love (and also a fan of the butt-sniff) and was a gentle giant. I have memories of him and Phoebe playing with him jumping over her and not ever touching her even though his paws were as big as tennis rackets. We lost our Phoebe at the end of October (unexpected and suddenly) and the giant-sized hole she left in our lives is mostly balanced out by the joy and smiles she brought to everyone she met! As Janet said, hopefully Phoebe and Auggie are romping around together in doggie-heaven.

That’s a very comforting thought.

I’m most interested in notes from dogs. Let me know what they think.

They are the “wilder” species yet dogs teach us how to love unconditionally. Hmmm.
