For the past two and a half years, I’ve been plunking away here on Substack, and having a ball. Now that I’m getting the hang of it, I’ve decided to put my li’l blog into the “paid” tier. The truth is: you don’t have to pay if you don’t want to. But the fun part is: if you’d like to support my writing, now you can!

If I’ve set up the paid function properly, here are the options available to you, the sweet readers of This Must. be the Place:

• Free: access to almost all of my articles (see below), no guilt attached,

• Founding Member: $100, access to all articles, special features (including a bi-weekly culture review which will be introduced soon); Founding Members are eligible for a letter written by me to anyone you haven’t spoken to in at least 15 years. I will also help you find that person if you’re stymied. I’m a whiz at this stuff.

• Monthly Member: $5/month, access to all articles and special content

• Annual Member: $50/year, access to all articles and special content (there’s some fancy math in here that gives you a discount, hope you have a calculator handy).

I’m excited to embark on this new phase of This Must be the Place. I hope I can count on you to come along for the ride.
